Hi, I'm Mahjong, SCARS' little diamond in the rough. SCARS thinks that I'm a two and a half year old Corgi mix. At least I have the basic short and thick body shape of the Corgi. Last January I arrived with my five new puppies from a community close to Edmonton. We were all in very bad shape - skinny, covered in lice, frightened and wary of people. My first priority was to nurse and raise my babies so that they would be healthy and ready for a foster home. During this time, my foster mom left me in a quiet place so that I wouldn't be stressed and convey that stress to my puppies.
Once my puppies had moved on to foster homes and then to adoptive homes, my foster mom began to work with me. I really like being with people and would do a play bow to show her my good intentions, but I wasn't very keen on being touched. I've come such a long long way since January 2015. I will follow you, be thrilled to see you, allow you to pet me - and I love it. I'm just not used to it yet. My playmate is Gear, a big energetic guy. So I can handle active play. Check out the video of Gear and I playing together!
SCARS thinks that I should be adopted by an experienced, patient, kind dog person, ideally with another dog in the house. I really need work on the leash, because I hate it and will chew through it in no time. Sorry, that's where the experienced dog person comes into play. If you would like a rewarding project - pick me. Think of the satisfaction and love that you'll get if you take me home, train me, love me and help me reach my potential.
