Some cats that come into SCARS care are just not looking for your typical family home.

They’re Working Cats and they have stuff to do! Our Working Cats are the happiest when they are in a barn or shop type environment, whether it’s because they don’t like the confines of a home, would rather not be cuddled by humans, or just prefer to be independent in the great outdoors.

Each Working Cat has a unique personality, but what they all have in common is they have been either spayed or neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, and microchipped. Some may be social butterflies around the water cooler and some would rather just get to work. A Working Cats adoption is by donation, and you provide a safe place with food, water, and warm shelter for your newest employee of the month. Contact cats@scarscare.ca for more information.

Please note we do ask you provide a secure space while they complete the first couple weeks in their new positions.

A spayed or neutered cat is the smart way to go. They won’t add to the overpopulation of cats the way “free to a good home” cats and kittens do. The reproduction rate of cats is staggering!
