Meet Crystal, a foster home and foster home supervisor! Also known as the crazy cat lady on call, as it is not unusual to find a large number of cats and kittens at her place temporarily until they are able to be placed in other foster homes. When asked why she volunteers with SCARS, Crystal said:

“I volunteer with SCARS because saying goodbye to a beloved pet is probably one of the hardest things I’ve had to do. When you care for this little creature for 16 years, you don’t want to let them go. After our cats Jeta, Miata, and Dr. Seuss passed away, the house was too quiet but we weren’t anywhere near ready to adopt. I had heard about SCARS and the great work they do and knew fostering might be the perfect fit. I’ve fostered rough cases, pregnant mommas, fluffy kittens, attention seeking tripping hazards, antisocial scaredy cats, and everything in between. Now my goodbyes are filled with happy tears for these cats and kittens that have come into SCARS care, and are now joining their new families in their forever homes. It’s the best kind of goodbye there is.”

Thank you Crystal for all your help and support!
