Meet Cassie!
Cassie is a proud SCARS volunteer and has volunteered with SCARS since March 2014. Cassie said “We initially got involved fostering cats which led us to having our forever foster, Sanctuary cat Phil.”
Since then Cassie has been involved with a few different roles including:
- a dog foster home
- a foster home supervisor
- an application screener
- an event committee member
- a rescue story writer
We asked Cassie why she volunteers with SCARS. “I volunteer with SCARS because I really enjoy the people within the organization and I believe in the vision that SCARS has. SCARS works with people and communities that need help with their animals. They take in all the animals that they can and don’t leave any behind based on medical costs or behavioural issues. I see what the organization does on a daily basis, and I’m so proud to be part of a group that is making a huge impact on animal welfare.”
