Pst, over here. I'm Recon but I'm a bit on the shy side. My foster mom says I am the absolute sweetest but I took my time showing her; there were just so many new sounds and people, things I wasn’t used to hearing or seeing, and that’s a bit intimidating. It took a couple of days for me to come out from hiding when people were around, but now I venture out a few times a day to cautiously say hello to my foster family. Like Ray Charles says, “the nighttime is the right time,” and that’s when they see the most of me. When it’s quiet and safe. I like my 2-legged foster brother, until he plays the drums; I’m not certain about those, and I am confident the dishwasher wants to eat me when its on, so I leave it alone. After being in the home for 10 days, I have finally started to curl up with my foster mom when she is getting ready for bed, and man oh man do I love a good cuddle. Under the blankets, over the blankets, in the armpit, between the knees, it doesn’t matter where, I just want to be close. I love myself some good scritches and am getting used to being picked up and snuggled. I also really love the cat tower! Don’t get me wrong, I’ll sneak in a dough making session on the rug, but I like to sit and watch outside from the safety of the tower. My 8-year-old human brother and I like to play with bouncy balls. He’ll toss them and I will eagerly bat them around until someone else enters the room and I find the closest place to hide. Once they’re gone, its game on! I also have started to greet my foster family when they come home from work or school and ask them questions about their day. I don’t counter surf or jump up on the table, but if the house is quiet, I like to be in the same room as my people. I’m a pretty laid-back, easy-going guy looking for a family that will be patient with the little bit of time it will take me to warm up to them. I’m fine with kids, but toddlers and babies might be too scary.
