I'm Niamh, a stunning 2-year-old tricolor Australian Shepherd mix with a tan coat and medium build! 🐕 I'm already spayed and leash trained, so I'm ready for adventures with a confident handler. I absolutely love kids of all ages, making me a fantastic family companion. However, I'd do best as your one and only when it comes to cats. With my adoption fee of $425, I'm eager to find my forever home — come meet me and let's start our story together! ❤️
About Me
I love going for walks, visiting the dog park, and spending time at doggy daycare. I’m friendly with people and other dogs, but I should not live with small animals like cats or rabbits. I’ve only seen them while out on walks, but I become very interested in them.
I’ve worked with a trainer, and when I become fixated on small critters, redirecting me with a rope toy or something appropriate to chew on helps me refocus. I’m also leash-reactive toward some larger dogs, but I’ve made great progress. Now I’m usually only reactive if the other dog reacts to me first.
At home, I’m the perfect mix of lazy and adventurous. I love curling up on a pile of pillows for a nap, but I’m always ready for a walk or an outing. Car rides are one of my favourite things!
Feeding
I currently eat 1½ cups of kibble three times a day (breakfast, lunch, and dinner). I get a little wet food mixed in with breakfast and dinner, but you can adjust my feeding routine as needed. I don’t have any known food allergies, and I enjoy all kinds of treats.
At Home
I’m very trustworthy in the house. I don’t chew furniture or destroy my toys, and I rarely bark indoors. I’m also quite independent and don’t struggle with separation anxiety.
I haven’t been kenneled since I was adopted but now since returned, so I’m not sure how I’d do in a crate. I free roam the house without any issues. The only thing to watch is my food—I can be a bit of a scavenger, so it’s best to keep food stored behind a closed or locked door where I can’t help myself!
