Titus found his way to a house where he found shelter from hungry dogs as the family had the deck blocked off for their own cats safety. When the family moved away, he was just left to fend for himself, when our volunteers heard that he had been left behind, they quickly went out to retrieve him . He had lived on their deck for at least 10 years and was never given a name. He was probably a prolific hunter in his younger years, but a broken leg that healed poorly, and a lot of arthritis had hampered his ability to survive on his own. He was very skittish when they went to find him, but his poor mobility, and his empty stomach made him an easy catch. Titus will remain a scars sanctuary cat for whatever time he has left where he will be pampered and have his canned food delivered to him , with his once a month medication he is able to live pain free and enjoy the company of the foster cats at his sanctuary home.

I'm a Sanctuary Animal

What's a sanctuary animal? Sanctuary animals are permanent wards of SCARS due to medical conditions or behavioral issues and we are not likely to ever find an adoptive family. SCARS is committed to giving these animals a home and the love, care and attention they deserve! We house them at our two main intake facilities. We look to businesses to sponsor Sanctuary Animals to help us offset the cost of housing them. Click here learn more about our Sanctuary Animals
Please note: If other cats/dogs in your home are not spayed/neutered, we may deny your application. SCARS exists due to lack of spaying/neutering and it is our goal to end this cycle. If there is a documented medical reason for your animal to not be spayed/neutered, we will work with you.
