SCARS Vehicle Fundrasier!

Our current transport van is in rough shape and we’re in need of a new one!

A Lifeline on Wheels: Our Goal
We’re launching a
n urgent fundraising campaign to purchase a new, dependable transit van equipped for animal rescue. Our goal is to raise $70,000 to cover the cost of the vehicle and necessary modifications for animal transport.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of Homes Alive Pets, all donations made through August 2025 will be matched dollar-for-dollar, up to $5,000! This means your contributio
n will have double the impact, bringing us closer to our goal of getting a new rescue van.

Hi, my name is Nala My foster mom calls me Floppy because I take any opportunity to flop on your lap for love and snuggles! I may just be the biggest lap dog you've met! I'm about one year old so I have some growing to do still. I really need to work on building up muscle as I didn't have much space to exercise before I came to SCARS. I am wonderful with kids, people, and other dogs! I am good with my foster brother the cat but I don't like it when he zooms past me or gets in my face (it makes me a little nervous) my old home also said I was good with rabbits! If you have birds I am not the pup for you. I liked the chickens at my old home a little too much and that's why I ended up at SCARS. I would not be a good livestock guardian dog. I LOVE to play so a home with one other young to middle aged dog would be a perfect fit for me. I can be a bit jealous of my human petting the other animals so I'll need to keep working on that! I am a resource guarder with food so you will need to separate me in another room or kennel for meals and snack time. I didn't have much practice with leash walking or basic training before SCARS but foster mommy says I am a smart cookie and am catching on at lightning speed! I have only had two accidents in the house and they were both at the back door. It's not my fault, I'm just a baby still and I'm learning to hold my bladder! I sleep in my kennel all night with no accidents but I do get a bit nervous being home alone in my crate. Teaching me to be confident and to trust my humans are coming back will be crucial in my progress. I am a sweet girl who just wants to be with you all the time whether that is going on long walks, going to the store, or having a lazy day on the couch! I'm down for anything! I can be a bit anxious when left home alone. A home where you work from home or finding someone who could get me into daycare, or set me up with a dog walker to take me out in the middle of your work day would be perfect. I am VERY trainable and quite food motivated. I would be perfect for outdoorsy people, acreage life or an urban home where I get lots of attention and walks! My foster mom thinks agility would be a great thing for us to do together to build my confidence and muscles!
