My name is Gwyneth and I am looking for a patient and kind family with a quiet home. When I came to my foster mom, I was very large and pregnant. I had experiences before SCARS that has caused me to be leery around humans and fearful of hands, however, I was a super mom & took very good care of my babies. I kept them clean, fed them continuously, played with them & was super patient when I was their play apparatus. My babies are gorgeous & love humans in spite of my fears. I have grown to accept my Foster family & will come up right next to them when they fill my food dish without hissing. I keep my eye on them though. Recently, one of my foster parents was able to give me one pet with hand when I was focused on food. This is a huge step forward for me. I don't get along with one of their resident cats so I get to rule the basement away from her. One of the other residents comes down for visits & I stopped hissing at him but I haven't played with him yet. The first time my foster parents saw me play was with my babies after they were born. Now I will play with a wand when they shake it, but I have to be in the right mood. My fosters put a baby gate at top of the stairs because I started coming up to see who was under the door. Now I can come up & see but still feel safe with the gate in place. They have removed the gate & let me sniff & check it out upstairs but I run back to my safe space & they return the gate for me. Given the time with my foster family, my foster family thinks I would have been upstairs by now if I got along with one of the resident cats. My foster mom also thinks if I find a home where I can live with no other kitties or one super friendly & chill cat, & live where the family hangs out most, I would get used to humans faster & would eventually allow human touch without being distracted first. I am litter trained. If you feel you have the patience, time and love, please consider adopting me.
