Hello, I'm Maurice (Mo or Momo, if you ask most of the humans in my foster home). I'm a sweet guy, but I need my space and plenty of time to get comfy in a new environment. I rely on my best friend Ted for encouragement and confidence, especially at first, so we need to stick together. It took me a while to realize that the humans here were safe, but I followed Ted's cues and he's good at helping me calm down if I get stressed out. If you respect my boundaries and give me time, and approach me slowly and quietly, I will melt. Give me ALL of the scratches! Literally all of them. I can't get enough. I'll purr like a motor and stay in the same spot as long as you keep giving me scratches. I'm dedicated like that. I'll even let you rub my belly. I still don't really like to be picked up, but sometimes I like a gentle cuddle in someone's arms. I'm getting more comfortable as time goes by, and I've started to hang out on couches and chairs right next to the humans. I have even followed Ted up onto Foster Dad's chair a couple of times. I could get used to respectful humans of all sizes. Just give me plenty of time. Treats and chin scratches help too, of course. I love wand toys and rattling balls. I've also been spotted batting random items around on the floor and carrying toys around in my mouth. Morning and evening parkour are essential to my day, along with several sneak attacks to keep Ted on his toes. Have you got space in your heart and home for a couple of playful dudes?
