Hello, I'm Maurice (Mo or Momo, if you ask most of the humans in my foster home). I'm a sweet guy, but I need my space and plenty of time to get comfy in a new environment. It took me a while to realize that the humans here weren't going to hurt me, but I get braver every day. I don't hiss or bite or scratch, but I will run and hide if my boundaries are not respected. If you respect my boundaries and give me time, and approach me slowly and quietly, I will melt. Give me ALL of the scratches! Literally all of them. I can't get enough. I'll purr like a motor and stay in the same spot as long as you keep giving me scratches. I'm dedicated like that. I'll even let you rub my belly. I don't really like to be picked up, but sometimes I like a gentle cuddle in someone's arms. I think with time I'll be comfortable getting up on couches and chairs to hang out and snuggle. My foster humans think I'd probably adjust more quickly in a quieter house, especially if there are cats for me to hang out with. I could get used to respectful humans of all sizes. Just give me plenty of time. Treats and scratches help too, of course. I love wand toys, but I've also been spotted batting random items around on the floor.
