Hi I'm gus and looking for my forever home. I would be best suited to a large property or acreage with another dog for company as that is my happy place! (but note I was previously quilled and have a natural hunting instinct for birds and rabbits so perhaps a large fenced area would be ideal!) I love all dogs and I appear to be good with cats as well! I have had limited contact with children so far but I love all humans. ( though I am abit better with women then men) I have learned how to walk on a leash - without pulling (unless I see rabbits or birds). I know sit, lay down, and stay. When I am in the house I am happy to lay on my bed ( I don't do couches) At night I like to stay by the side of the bed (been trained to not sleep in the bed) I am not fond of the crate - I don't like being closed in - though I am learning to stay in one for up to an hour if someone is in the room with me. I do not like to be left alone in the house - I will go up on the couch and look out the window and howl and cry. But you can leave me outside for up to 2 hours and I will not howl or cry. I love time and attention - 2 walks a day and I like to play hide and seek with moose my stuffy, and in the yard I love it if you chase me while i carry my toy. I will drop it when you call me and come to you -(so I learn to come when called) but please don't make me give me my toy I'll come get a pet or a treat and go back and get my toy and we can play some more. Last of all I am incredibly clever!! I learn things very quickly ! but I am still somewhat timid - so you never have to raise your voice to me.
