I’m crate trained and respectful of boundaries—but I’d much rather be close to you. Even in my crate, I feel better just knowing you’re near. I am a bit wary with new people. If someone stares at me or comes in too fast, I let them know I’m uncomfortable—my ridge goes up and I’ll give a sharp bark to say, “too much, too soon!” But if you move slowly, keep your energy calm, and let me take the lead, I’ll learn to trust you—and once I do, my loyalty runs deep.
