This animal now has a SPONSOR because of the extreme medical bills upcoming for her. Hi There, my name is Hazel. I came into SCARS when I was found abandoned in a rental basement. The landlords found me and quickly brought me into SCARS. I was skin and bones and not feeling so well. SCARS took me to the vet to see what's going on. The vet averaged me to be about 8 - 10 years, and that I was in the start of kidney failure. They put me on some good food to help manage my condition. I also had some bad teeth, so SCARS helped me with those too! So now I can eat alot better and am alot happier. I am a quiet, and affectionate cat. I love to take afternoon naps and love being pet. I will meow on first sight of my fosters as if I am saying hello. I am still working on gaining my weight back, but I will get there. I am good at using my litter box too! My fosters say i have auch lovely eyes! I am not adoptable at this time

I'm a Sanctuary Animal

What's a sanctuary animal? Sanctuary animals are permanent wards of SCARS due to medical conditions or behavioral issues and we are not likely to ever find an adoptive family. SCARS is committed to giving these animals a home and the love, care and attention they deserve! We house them at our two main intake facilities. We look to businesses to sponsor Sanctuary Animals to help us offset the cost of housing them. Click here learn more about our Sanctuary Animals
Please note: If other cats/dogs in your home are not spayed/neutered, we may deny your application. SCARS exists due to lack of spaying/neutering and it is our goal to end this cycle. If there is a documented medical reason for your animal to not be spayed/neutered, we will work with you.
