SCARS Vehicle Fundrasier!

Our current transport van is in rough shape and we’re in need of a new one!

A Lifeline on Wheels: Our Goal
We’re launching a
n urgent fundraising campaign to purchase a new, dependable transit van equipped for animal rescue. Our goal is to raise $70,000 to cover the cost of the vehicle and necessary modifications for animal transport.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of Homes Alive Pets, all donations made through August 2025 will be matched dollar-for-dollar, up to $5,000! This means your contributio
n will have double the impact, bringing us closer to our goal of getting a new rescue van.

Zemma here. I am the sweetest 10 year old lady looking for a quiet retirement home. My two favourite things are balls and car rides. Although I still have the young dog energy, I do have to take EXTRA it easy. I have this spinal degeneration thing so I need to take it easy so I don’t hurt myself or cause more damage. I take medication 2-3 times a day to help with pain. Because of the spinal degeneration, I do walk a little funny. To protect my toes, my foster mom got me these boots that I wear when I’m out walking on harder surfaces like cement, rocks and pavement. I don’t mind them, I know they help me. But when I’m inside with no boots it’s very helpful to have carpets out for me as I do slip and get myself stuck, and sometimes need help to get back up. I can’t do stairs too well, I’m ok with 2-3 steps, any more and I do need someone to help give me a boost up (I’m ok going down but I do avoid stairs as I know I have troubles). I LOVE my ball and I will always try to get you to throw it because what’s better than a ball right?? But foster mom says I can’t play too much because of my back issue. She gets a sad face when she always tells me this because it’s my favourite thing in the whole world. I am currently chilling with my 14 year old foster dog sister. I like her lots. I also like meeting new dog friends. But I don’t like it when the other dogs snap or growl at me. I am chill with most dogs as long as they are chill with me. I do stick up for myself. I’ve met some cats the last few months, I’m ok with them, I get VERY curious and tend to follow them around. But when the cat tells me to back off I usually do. I have a 12 year old foster human brother and he’s pretty cool. I’ve been around littler kids and I like them too but because I don’t have much control of my back end sometimes I can knock them over, so bigger kids is better for me. Well that’s me in a nutshell. If you think I’d be your perfect retirement dog, please send an application to meet me!!
