Looking for a loyal sidekick? Stop right there! I'm the guy you've been dreaming of.
My name is Buddy and I've been waiting in the shelter for 6 whole years for a home. 6 years!
I recently got pulled out by my foster family and they say they absolutely cannot understand why I haven't been adopted yet.
I'm an older gentleman, but don't let my age fool you. I LOVE going on walks, exploring is so fun, there's so many smells and places to leave my mark. Bonus: I'm really good on a leash.
In the house, my foster mom calls me a perfect houseguest. I do all my business outside and I can be left free roaming in the house while you're away. All I do is watch the world outside the window and move from one nap spot to another.
I also love lounging in the yard and saying hey to people walking by - but be vigilant when you come and go, as I do like to try and slip out the gate with you when you're not expecting it.
One of my favourite hobbies is removing squeakers from stuffed toys. I'm a master at it and I won't stop until I've removed every last one.
I am excellent with other dogs. So much so I even went to Paws in the Park and met dogs of all shapes and sizes. I currently live with my foster sister, she's about the same size as me and I just ignore her, even though she tries to get me to play tag with her sometimes.
While me and canines are all good, cats are not for me - no thanks. Hard pass.
I'm also not a fan of the littles - people that is. Toddlers just spook me. They’re unpredictable and move weird, can you blame me? I'd like my kid friends to be at least 6 years old. Children that know how to respect an old dog’s space are great!
At night, I'm crate trained from being in the shelter so long, but I'm learning about these magical fluffy pillows they call dog beds and they're really soft. When I lie down in one I sigh very dramatically, just so everyone knows I'm relaxing.
I would be an excellent companion for many different kinds of homes according to my foster momma. She says I'm just a really good boy who deserves a place to comfortably retire. Could you give me that? I'd be eternally grateful.
Heck, I'll even let you pet my belly and give you some big tail wags to show you just how appreciative I am.
I've been waiting so long for you to find me. Please don't make me wait any longer.
