Meet Max! Max is a 9-month-old black-and-tan Shepherd mix with a big personality, endless enthusiasm, and a serious love for adventure! This handsome young guy is always ready to get moving and would be happiest with an active family who wants a dog to join them for all of life’s adventures. Max has a high play drive and absolutely loves fetch and frisbee. Whether he’s chasing a ball in the yard, learning a new game, or heading out for a car ride, Max is happiest when he has something fun to do. He’s also a people-lover who enjoys being around his humans and is always excited to say hello. Like any young Shepherd mix, Max has plenty of energy and is still learning how to be the best dog he can be. He’s currently working on his leash skills and learning that four paws on the floor is the best way to greet people. He also needs continued work on his potty training. When Max gets especially excited, he can have the occasional excitement-related accident, so his new family will need to be patient and consistent as he matures and learns. Max is expected to grow into a large dog, so his ideal home will be prepared for his size, energy, and enthusiasm. He will need plenty of daily physical exercise and mental enrichment to keep his busy brain and body happy. Fetch, frisbee, training sessions, hiking, running, scent games, and other activities could all be great ways to help Max burn energy and build a strong bond with his family. The good news? With consistency, positive reinforcement, and plenty of outlets for his energy, this playful boy has so much potential. Max is good with cats, enjoys car rides, and is ready to find an active family who will keep him busy, continue his training, and make him part of the adventure.
