Meet Donnie! Donnie is a handsome 1-year-old mixed breed with an adorable squishy face, a gorgeous apricot-and-white coat, and a whole lot of love to give! Donnie came into care after being shot in his hind leg, but this resilient boy has made an amazing recovery. He is healing beautifully and is expected to have no long-term effects from his injury other than a scar (a little reminder of just how strong he is!). These days, Donnie is much more interested in giving kisses and getting hugs than worrying about his past. He absolutely loves people and is happiest when he’s getting attention from his favourite humans. He’s also very food motivated, which will be a huge bonus as he continues learning and growing! Like many young dogs, Donnie has plenty of puppy energy and is still working on his manners. He’ll need a family who is willing to provide some guidance as he learns things like keeping his paws on the floor, controlling his excitement, and walking nicely on a leash. The good news? With his love of food and his eagerness to be around people, Donnie has all the ingredients to become a fantastic student. Donnie is looking for a family who will give him the structure, patience, exercise, and training he needs to succeed. In return, you’ll get a sweet, affectionate boy who thinks hugs, kisses, snacks, and spending time with his people are pretty much the best things in the world.
