Hi! I’m India, but my friends call me Doug! 🐾 I’m a total love bug who would happily spend my days curled up in your lap getting belly rubs. I’m crate trained, sleep through the night, incredibly gentle, and have so much love to give. I’m also a playful little explorer! I love chasing and retrieving a ball, discovering new things, and following my humans around wherever they go. If you’re moving from room to room, chances are I’ll be right there beside you — I just love being part of the action! I’m working hard on my basic commands, too, and I’m learning that training can be lots of fun when there are yummy soft treats involved. I’m eager to learn and love the positive attention that comes with training. I absolutely adore other dogs and enjoy having furry friends around. I’m gentle with cats, too, and with my sweet and gentle nature, I would be happy around respectful children who understand how to interact kindly with a puppy. But my rescue journey comes with a little extra care. I was diagnosed with a medical condition called a persistent right aortic arch, and I’ll be having surgery in mid-October to repair it. The amazing team at SCARS is making sure I get the medical care I need, and they will cover all of my medical costs. Until then, I’m eating a special liquid diet made with blended wet food and bone broth while I get ready for surgery. What I need now is a loving, dedicated foster-to-adopt home that can give me the patience, attention, and care I need throughout my recovery. Someone who will cheer me on as I heal, help me continue learning, and give me all the love and security I deserve. In return? I’ll give you endless cuddles, puppy kisses, playful adventures, loyalty, and unconditional love. ❤️ I may need a little extra care right now, but I have so much love to give — and I can’t wait to find the family who will be by my side through it all.
