Hi! I'm Hugh. I came into SCARS' care this summer with hundreds of quills in my face and body. They had been there for a while and I was very emaciated. While removing quills, the vet also found a pellet in my cheek. I have been with my caretakers for a few weeks now and they say I'm the happiest boy despite what I've been through. I will probably have quill migrate for the next couple months. There were just SOOOOOO many. I am currently living in a kennel environment and seem to be fine with most other dogs (I'm very indifferent to them). I have seen a few small dogs and my caretakers aren't super comfortable with how fixated I am on them. So I will need to go to a home without any small dogs or cats. Because I came in so emaciated, I am super focused on food. I will likely be a counter surfer and try to get all the snacks until I'm at an appropriate weight. So please make sure I am set up for success by putting all food type things away. I don't have many obedience type skills yet, but I will sit for my food.
