Hi, my name is Shadow and I am a very sweet 35lb girl who has had a difficult start to life. Having come in as a quilled stray with my littermates, I arrived to SCARS very shut down and fearful. With a little bit of time, patience, and love though, I am on my way to being an amazing dog for a lucky family. It’s taken several days for me to warm up to my foster parents, but now that they’ve shown me I can trust them, I’ve really come out of my shell! I am a very sweet, submissive girl who recently found her voice and is experiencing what it’s like to be a puppy in a home for the first time, and guess what? I love it! I love playing with toys, giving my foster parents lots of kisses, exploring the house, and recently discovered that I like soft, fuzzy dog beds as well as snoozing on the couch. If you spend enough time trying to gain my trust (along with having lots of treats for me, I really like treats), I might even get comfortable enough to sit on your lap! Although I am getting more and more comfortable in my foster home, I am still a timid pup who will require a home with lots of patience as well as some training to show me the world isn’t so scary after all. I hope you will take a chance on me because I have so much love to give! Some more info about Shadow Shadow gets along well with other dogs but has not yet been tested around cats or kids. She is very submissive and sweet though, so her foster parents expect she’ll do well with proper introductions and/or dog savvy children. Shadow is approximately 8 months old and is just coming into her puppy phase now that she’s less shut down. She will require some training and a patient home willing to teach her some puppy manners and to help get her puppy energy out! She is not yet fully potty trained, but we are working on this. We are also working on getting her comfortable with a collar and leash for walks, and she is still recovering from being quilled.
