Meet Loki! Loki is a 6-month-old black-and-white mixed breed with a big personality, plenty of energy, and lots of potential! This spirited young pup is looking for an experienced dog handler who understands canine behaviour and is ready to provide the structure, consistency, and ongoing training he needs to thrive. Loki is already crate and leash trained, giving his new family a great foundation to build on. He is an energetic, intelligent pup who will need plenty of physical exercise, mental enrichment, and purposeful training to keep his busy mind and body happy. Because Loki is still working through some behavioural challenges, he is not a good fit for a first-time dog owner. He is currently working on resource guarding and dog reactivity. His family will need to be comfortable recognizing his triggers, managing his environment, and continuing his training using patient, consistent, positive reinforcement. An experienced handler who can set clear boundaries while helping Loki build confidence will be an important part of his success. Loki is not comfortable living with cats and he would do best with young adults aged 16 and up who can respect his boundaries and understand that he is still learning how to navigate the world. Loki also has a sensitive stomach and is currently doing well eating a hydrolyzed protein diet. Loki may have some extra homework, but he's also a young dog with so much potential. With the right person, structure, and continued training, he has the opportunity to grow into a wonderful companion. If you're an experienced dog handler looking for a young dog to continue building with, Loki may be the energetic, intelligent companion you've been looking for!
