Hello, my name is Cookie. I came into care with my siblings and over 20 other cats after having been abandoned on a farm property when our owners moved. While some of us had clearly been pets, my siblings and I were raised without much contact with people, so living in a home with them has been a big adjustment. I was the first of my family to start warming up to our new people and quickly learned to like getting treats and pets. My foster home and I have put in a lot of work to turn me from a terrified feral baby into a calm, happy house cat and I've made huge progress! I'm very friendly with my family and am learning that visitors aren't as scary as I used to think. I chatter almost non-stop and love being petted and scratched, including my belly. We're still working on being ok going into a carrier or being picked up, but I'm making good progress here too. I have lots of energy and would love a home that will play with me. Even though I've made major progress, I still require a quiet 1-2 person home with no kids/dogs and a solid, predictable routine that I can rely on. It would also be a big help to have a confident, friendly resident cat in the house to show me that there’s nothing to be scared of. My new family will need to be experienced with cats so they can understand when to encourage new experiences and when to take it slow. With time, patience, and the right people, my foster home has every confidence that I’ll make for a fantastic companion whose love and trust will make my family's efforts so rewarding.
