Hi, my name is King. I have the biggest, happiest smile, handsome high-set button ears, adorable black and white whiskers and the best head-on-your-chest cuddles you could ever ask for. When I first came to SCARS, I hadn’t had much training or learned my manners yet, but with the help of my foster mom, I’ve made excellent progress. I know how to sit and wait politely at every door before heading out. I walk nicely on a loose leash most of the time, and when I do get a bit excited and pull, I’m easily redirected. I know lots of commands already: come, sit, wait, lay down, shake a paw, high five, and even wave, and I have excellent recall! I’ve also handled bath time like a champ. I’m very food-motivated, which makes learning new things super fun for me. I love playing with other dogs, but I’m still working on learning how to share. I will need structure and strong boundaries to ensure I thrive with my forever family. I’m very affectionate. I love to lean right into you, rest my head on your chest, and soak up all the pets. I’m still working on keeping all four paws on the ground and not getting a little mouthy when I’m excited and playful, but I’m making excellent progress. I love playing with squeaky toys, Nylabones, rubber chew toys, and spiky balls. I also settle nicely in my kennel with a frozen Kong, chew stick, or bully stick, and I’ll never say no to a treat or a cuddle. My energy level is medium-high, so I’d love a home that can give me at least an hour of walking, as well as, playtime exercise each day. We can hit those step goals together and enjoy all the benefits of getting outside! I’m ready to find my forever home, where I can keep learning, growing, and loving my people with my whole heart.
