Hi, my name is Pancake! And not to brag… but have you ever seen a shinier, more beautiful black coat? I’m a mixed-breed girl (mostly Labrador), and I’ve got all the classic Lab traits: affectionate, intelligent, friendly, gentle, and full of energy. I’m super smart, already ring the potty bells to go outside, sit in front of the door and wait for it to open and I know how to sit, come, lie down, and shake a paw. I am also fully potty-trained and kennel-trained. I’m also doing really well with recall and love learning new things. I love treats, but I love attention, pets and praise even more! Playtime is one of my favourite things, any toy will do! I’m learning to fetch, and I could happily spend hours playing. When I’m not playing, I’m all about the cuddles. I love being close to my foster mom and will happily snuggle up whenever I can. I adore meeting new people and other dogs. I’m working on not jumping up when I get excited (it’s just because I’m so happy to see you!), so I’ll need a family who can help me keep practicing that. I’m also learning loose leash walking (again, I get so excited about the world) but I’m improving a lot with consistency. I would LOVE an active family who will take me on all the walks, hikes, adventures, and park picnics. I especially LOVE snow. Rolling in it and making snow angels are among my greatest joys! Even in the warmer months, I’d be thrilled to find snowy spots to play in (if you go behind an arena, you may find some for me discarded from the Zambonis) I’ve seen a few cats outside and did try to chase them (they looked fun!), but I haven’t met any indoor cats yet. I’ve done wonderfully with all the dogs I’ve met, and when I sit and wait to be pet, I’m gentle and sweet with people. Because I’m strong and still working on keeping all four paws on the floor, a home without very young children would be the best fit for me right now. I’m about two years old, so I’m fully grown, but I’ll keep growing in all the best ways with the right family by my side. I’m joy in dog form. I bring so much happiness to everyone I meet, and I’m ready to give my whole heart to a family who will love me just as much as I’ll love them.
