SPONSORED BY: a dedicated & kind pair of SCARS volunteers* Hi! My name is Billy Bob! The vet thinks I'm about three years old, but I still run and play like a kitten. I like to have plenty of toys to keep me occupied when my foster parents aren't around, but if you'll hold a cat dancer or throw a ball for me, I'll play for as long as you have time (I'll even fetch the ball sometimes). You'll often hear me galloping around my space as I burn off my kitten energy. There's nothing I love more than playing, but sometimes I get excited and give my people a gentle chomp because I'm having so much fun. It isn't a hard bite, but sometimes if I'm having lots of fun, I forget my manners and need a gentle reminder that hands aren't toys. All things considered, you'd be hard pressed to find a cat with a nicer personality than mine. I'm very friendly, always interested in what my people are doing, and love to be picked up and held (until I realise that I'm late to play with my ball and need to go do that). You might have noticed something missing from my pictures, namely a tail. I came to SCARS with an injury that meant it had to be removed when I arrived, but I haven't let that slow me down even a little. There is a little bit of nerve damage that affects how I use the litterbox, but that's improved dramatically since I've been with SCARS. Today I'm usually very good about using the litterbox, but sometimes I don't realise that I've dropped a dry little marble behind me in my travels. I also need to pee about a dozen times a day, and regularly need to go sit in the box to see if it's a false alarm, but I don't leak or dribble as I play, snuggle, or sleep. There aren't many soft furnishings in my space, but sometimes I mistake a folded towel for a good place to pee. My foster parents are hopeful that this is a behaviour that can be trained away, since I haven't accidentally left a puddle anywhere that I shouldn't since I finished healing, except towels and soft beds. I would really like to play with the other cats in the house but they don't always like newcomers, so if I had the chance, I think I'd love to make a cat friend to play and snuggle with. Dogs are an unknown, since there aren't any in the house and might be why I'm missing an appendage, but I'm the forgiving type and might be willing to make a dog friend too. I'm looking for a forever family who can accommodate my need to use the litterbox regularly, doesn't mind picking up the hard little poo-marbles I occasionally drop, and can spend a little time teaching me that soft things aren't a suitable litterbox alternative. I'd also probably do very well if I had a nice, heated shop to call my own and people who visited me regularly to play and check on me. If you're someone who's looking for a smart, energetic friend and who doesn't mind helping me through my challenges, I might just be the furry friend for you.
