Meet Evangeline! This stunning 2-year-old Greater Swiss Mountain Dog is as sweet as they come. Evangeline—known around here as Evie—is a gentle, affectionate girl who wins hearts instantly. Highly food-motivated and eager to please, she’s taken to training beautifully and picked up the shelter routine in no time. She aced her leash skills right away and continues to make steady progress every day. Evie arrived at our shelter with a male dog from the pound, so we don’t know much about her past. What we can tell is that she’s had several litters, and she’s more than ready to retire from motherhood and just enjoy being someone’s beloved companion. Evie gets along well with most male dogs and would thrive with a calm, established male buddy—or she’d be just as happy being the only pet soaking up all the love. She can be a bit selective with female dogs, especially through barriers, so a meet-and-greet would be important if there’s another dog in the home. What Evie wants most is a home where she can stretch her legs, run around, relax, and enjoy a life free from puppy demands.
