Hi, I’m Lew! I’m a young Great Dane mix. I have a big personality and I’d love to share it with you! I’ve recently come back into SCARS’ care because my previous home and I were not the best match. I’m an excitable boy and do have a hard time self regulating and controlling my emotions. This can be difficult for people to deal with because I am so big (think 100 pound, 6 foot tall when standing, puppy energy). I would do best as the only animal in the home, but I could have appropriate dog friends. I will need a home without small children. In order for me to be my best self, I’ll will need consistency and strong boundaries from my family. I’ve been working on leash and crate training, and I’ve made tons of progress with my impulse control. I’ve already grown so much while I’ve been back at SCARS - so let's keep the momentum going! I'm currently working on learning not to jump-up on people, not resource guarding food, and walking nicely on a leash for anyone who is with me (I walk nicely for only some people right now). I will need some training, but you’d be hard-pressed to find a boy who’ll love you more than I do! If you have large dog experience and lots of patience, I’d love to join your family!
