I am similar to the little mermaid in the way that I, too, want to be where the people are. I am a young, large, and intelligent red heeler mix. Evidence of my intelligence is readily apparent. I am house-trained, and the resident dog is teaching me to use a bell at the back door to go outside, and to bark when I want to come back inside; I have almost got it down!
I love to follow my foster family around, and I want to do everything they do! My favourite thing to do is to bring people their shoes; they are always leaving them at the door. I do not like loud trucks. I am cautious around new dogs, although I like dogs and I want them to like me. I would be happy living with a kind older dog. I would also be just as delighted if I were your only love. I like the cats here in my foster home; it makes me cry a little knowing that they don't want to play with me.... yet.
I love kids! They are so much fun! But I am still young and love to jump and jump on small kids. I am curious about birds. I haven't chased birds, but I do love to watch them, and I have been known to taste the feathers I find. I am learning basic commands, and I will require ongoing training. I am full of potential, and just like my littermates and all the other dogs at SCARS, I deserve all the love this world has to offer. Are you my people?
