Meet Bandit! Bandit is an almost two-year-old Saint Bernard mix with a big heart, an affectionate personality, and a love for adventure. This handsome boy is happiest when he’s out exploring, playing with his dog friends, or cuddling up with his favourite people. He absolutely loves hugs and cuddles and would happily spend his day soaking up affection from his humans. He’s the kind of dog who wants to be part of whatever his family is doing, especially if it means being close to his people! Bandit is a quick learner and doesn’t mind getting groomed. He has strong recall and is comfortable walking on leash, although his nose can sometimes get the better of him when he catches an interesting scent. Rabbits and squirrels are particularly distracting, so his new family should be prepared for the occasional enthusiastic pull when something exciting crosses his path. Bandit would thrive with an active family who enjoys spending time outdoors. He would be a fantastic camping and hiking companion and is always ready for a swim when he finds a lake! An acreage or farm lifestyle could be a great fit for him, with the opportunity to spend time both indoors and outdoors with his family. When it comes to people and other dogs, Bandit is a social and very affectionate guy. He loves playing with his canine friends and can make friends with almost anyone he meets. Despite his impressive size and tendency to keep watch over his family, don’t expect Bandit to be much of a guard dog, he’s far too friendly! He’d much rather greet everyone with a wagging tail and some affection than stand guard. Bandit is still working on a few things, including learning that he doesn’t need to have all of his people’s attention and keeping his paws on the floor when he gets excited. His enthusiasm and affectionate nature can sometimes get the better of him, but he’s eager to learn and would love a family who can continue helping him build his manners.
