Oh, hello there! I can’t help but notice you clicked on my link! (but how could you resist – I mean, look at my face!) My name is Alder, and I am a seven month old Mastiff/Husky mix. I have heterochromia, which means I have one blue eye and one brown eye: foster mom says I am a ‘spirit dog’, because I can see both earth and the great beyond at the same time – pretty cool, eh?! I came into SCARS with my sister, Larch, and while we would love to be adopted together (I can be shy and she protects me and makes me feel brave), foster mom thinks I would do well in a home with a calm and confident dog who can support me as I experience all the new things the world has to offer. There is a resident male dog at my foster home, and I really want him to be my best friend, so I think I would be fine with a male or female companion. I am house trained, I really like my crate (it is my safe space) but I also like to free-range in my foster home, so long as I have my safe spaces when I need some quiet-time, and I am great on a leash. I still have the cutest little puppy knobby knees, and foster mom laughs when I walk, ‘cause I have a heavy ‘tunka tunka’ walk – I am going to be a solid boy! I am very laid-back, am not bothered by noises, and I love hugs and snuggles – do you think we could be best friends?
