Hey there. I'm Eightball. I'm told that I'm a spicy, sleek house panther. I really like hunting things. I'm learning that humans don't really like when I hunt their legs. Oops. I don't TRY to hurt anyone, but sometimes I forget to keep my nails and teeth to myself when I'm playing. I'm also not a big fan of people touching me by my tail, so I don't enjoy butt scratches like most cats do. I wouldn't want to hurt any small humans, so a house with adults or bigger kids who understand cat body language would be better for now. Foster Mom says I do an adorable little twirl and jump when I'm asking to play, so everyone knows I'm not trying to be mean when I jump on feet. If people bring out a wand toy or a ball for me to chase, I'll happily jump on that instead of feet. I'm just not sure how to ask any other way. I'm learning to be gentler though. My skin gets dry and itchy pretty easily, but eating plenty of fishy foods seems to help, especially if you add some fish oil to it once in a while. I like to play with other cats, but I'm wary at first so I need some space as I get comfortable. Once I feel safe, I enjoy spending my zoomie time with a buddy or two, especially if there is catnip involved. I love to carry my "catches" around in my mouth. My foster family thinks it's funny when I sneak around with mittens or toys in my mouth. My fosters say I'm "food motivated", whatever that means. I don't notice much around me if there's a wet treat to nibble on, which makes vaccines easy. I have great litter box manners and I'm not fussy about food or water. I may never be a lap cat, but once I warm up I do enjoy some snuggles against your chest and plenty of head scratches. I'm an independent young lady who'd love to hang out quietly while you're at work and then have some wonderful play time before settling down for the night. If you let me curl up by your feet for the night, that would be lovely, but I won't protest if you'd prefer that I spend my nights in a different room. I have occasionally meowed at doors, hoping to be let in, but if you ask me gently to stop, I will go do something else.
