April 23, 2026 – Trixie is a puppy who deserved safety, not the trauma of being hit by a vehicle. We got the call yesterday morning and had her at Guardian VCA by the afternoon. Her story is heartbreaking, but it is not unique. Every day, rescues are faced with animals suffering from fractured pelvises, lung injuries, and other devastating trauma. These are critical, painful cases, and the cost of care is more than rescues can continue to carry alone.
This is why change is urgently needed. We need stronger animal welfare laws, increased government funding for veterinary care, and a community willing to stand behind these animals through donations, fostering, volunteering, and advocacy.
You can help.
Please consider donating to our medical fund, sharing Trixie’s story, opening your home as a foster, volunteering your time, and using your voice to push for policy changes that better protect vulnerable animals.
Together, we can fund lifesaving care, save more animals, and move toward a future where no rescue is forced to choose between affordability and saving a life.
