What started off as a healthy litter of kittens, quickly changed. Our “the Price is Right” litter tested positive for panleukopenia. Panleukopenia is sometimes referred to as feline distemper or feline parvo, and is highly contagious and life threatening.
These poor souls were extremely sick and had many vet visits. They needed to be heavily monitored by their foster home, providing outpatient care with many medications, subcutaneous fluids, force feeding, and bum baths. Miraculously, Mom and all her babies survived this potentially fatal virus and are currently undergoing their quarantine period until they are no longer contagious.
