Sept 16 – Hi my name is Scruffy…I am a terrier mix, approximately 3 yrs of age. I was found wondering the streets of Morinville. The wonderful volunteers with SCARS picked me up, took me to the rescue centre and from there I went to my foster home. I was a mess when I was found… I had oozing wounds on my few and armpits and ohh so itchy! My foster mom took me to the vet clinic, and, it was determined that the sores are from untreated allergies that I have. I have since been put on medication and am on a special diet. I am healing and fortunately not as itchy. The vet thinks that I will be on medication and a special diet for life… Now that I’m not so itchy, I can behave like a dog should, not so overwhelmed, and am learning to trust again. Im not as suspicious of people, wary of everyday city noises and other dogs as I was before I came into care. I have grown to really enjoy going out for my walks and given time to smell the roses. I will even let others pet me if they come at me slowly… Are you looking for a best friend and a walking partner?? Oh yes, BTW, I am fully house trained! I think the best home for me would be a calm home, a patient home that will let me grow, a home with someone retired or working from home. I do ok with kids, cats and ot her calm dogs (I don’t like other dogs in my face). I would enjoy a backyard to sniff around in, I don’t do as well in a condo or apartment as I can bark when left alone. So…If interested in adopting me, please fill in an application with SCARS.
