May 24, 2026 -We’re facing a wave of urgent cases, and we’re doing everything we can to prioritize each one. Right now, it’s a mom and her five eight-month-old puppies, all suffering from porcupine quills. Quills are among the most common and life threatening injuries a dog can endure; they can migrate, cause severe infections, and prevent eating or drinking. If not treated promptly, dehydration and starvation become real risks. It has taken two long trips (about two hours each way) to safely trap five of them, with a third capture needed for the last. The first two dogs have already been treated and are resting, three more are en route for care, and the sixth is being planned.
Plus add another bottle baby to the mix.
