Let’s Welcome the New Year with Lots of Cute Puppies!
The past few days have brought an influx of adorable puppies into our care—from surrender cases to strays and even some spay/neuter returns. We have also been able to spay the moms and return them, continuing our commitment to responsible pet ownership.
At SCARS, we take our Walls for Winter/Spay/Neuter program very seriously. This crucial initiative not only prevents unwanted litters but also ensures medical care for mother dogs, helping to end the cycle of overpopulation. However, the work we do is often more challenging than it seems. We travel for hours to reach communities that need our help, and with the shortage of vets, securing appointments can be quite difficult. Plus, many of the animals we bring in require more than just routine care, adding to the veterinary costs.
Despite these hurdles, we are proud to say that we’ve vetted 265 animals this year and provided 80 shelters to those who desperately needed it. A massive thank you to everyone who supports this important initiative! Your kindness and generosity make a world of difference for these animals in need.
Let’s continue this journey together in the New Year!
