May 14, 2023 Update
After having emergency surgery to repair a diaphragmatic hernia after being hit by a vehicle, Louise was stable enough to undergo surgery to repair her badly fractured femur. This sweet pup is now on the road to recovery. Thank you to the amazing staff at Guardian Veterinary Centre!

Louise is one of 3 dogs found together, but sadly Louise had been hit by a vehicle and was hiding in a culvert. Thankfully a woman and her son managed to crawl in to help her. This beautiful girl was brought in as an emergency to the specialists at Guardian. She had a complicated diaphragmatic hernia, which means she was hit so hard her abdominal organs were pushed into her chest. She was immediately placed on oxygen before going in for surgery.
You would think that was enough trauma for such a young pup but nope, she also has a fractured femur that requires surgery, which will be done as soon as she is stable enough to go through another surgery. She has a long recovery but she is a lucky pup. Of course surgeries of any kind, especially complicated ones that require a skilled specialist are not cheap. If you would like to make a donation towards Louise’s care we would be grateful.
