Who else has a HUGE heart for senior dogs? 💗 Sure, puppies are cute. But seniors touch our hearts differently! Meet Henry. He is one of the surrenders from the Canadian Animal Task Force clinic last weekend (Nov. 1 to 3). He is currently getting a mass in his face biopsied. OH Henry, we are rooting for you. Our fingers and paws are crossed for a happy outcome!
Update on Henry. 🥰
Well it’s been a couple weeks since I arrived in to SCARS’ care. I wanted to say I’m really enjoying my foster home. They give so many pets and if I want more all I have to do is tap on their hand with my paw and I get more! I have started going on two slow, short walks a day, and I’m so happy when it’s walk time! I have a foster brother and sister here too who keep me company. We are all a little cautious around each other but we are starting to warm up to each other. The results of the biopsy haven’t come back yet but I am comfortable and able to eat without a problem! I’ve heard my foster mom mention that I’m such wonderful dog with a lot of personality. I know I’m an older guy but I have so much love to give. I cannot wait to find my furever home!
October 27 Henry Update. 💕 🐕  Hi everyone! Well, I got the results back from the biopsy and the vet says I have cancer. It’s a low grade soft tissue sarcoma. What this means is it is a slow growing cancer. The vet thought about removal of the tissue, but that would leave a large gap on my face, if it was even possible. So now I am looking for a very special someone to take me into their home and let me enjoy the rest of my time being loved and spoiled. I don’t know if my time is long or short. I love my foster family, they give me love and attention. That’s all I really want. Right now I am on pain medication and will be for the rest of my life. As life goes on, I may need an increase in the pain medications to keep me comfortable. I’m looking for a quiet home, that knows I may need some special attention. I hope to meet you soon.
December 7…. Henry was adopted, but we got this sad update today  🌈❤️
“It is with a very heavy heart that I share the passing of Henry. The tumor had grown & ruptured in his mouth yesterday. Though our time together was short, he quickly became family. He LOVVVVED breakfast! (It was raw for breakfast & kibble for supper). He enjoyed being brushed, and looked forward to our twice a day walks. He was walking just over 1km each walk x 2 and lost 10 lbs. He his favorite place was around Dan & myself. He loved floor snuggle time & peanut butter. I’d like to Thank you & your team for Henry. I am sad that we had such a short time with him but feel blessed that we did have the time with him.
With a heavy heart” We are so thankful that he found love in his final weeks. Thank you to Sybilla & Dan for loving him beyond measure. ❤️🌈
