Meet Goggles, the newest member of the porcupine club. As fate would have it, SCARS was out responding to another rescue when we were stopped and asked for help. A very thin stray dog had shown up at a residence in obvious distress, with a mouth full of quills. Porcupine quills left untreated can be life threatening and can be extremely costly to remove the longer they are left. Most cases require several vet visits after initial treatment for migrating quills and infection.
