Well, gosh, I am not quite sure where to begin. My last few days have been, well, a lot!

Coco is the name, and playing was my game. That is until I crossed paths with a vehicle. I now know that those big metal noisy things should be avoided if you are a small pup, but the lesson came a bit late.

I lived a long way away from veterinary care, but people here are friends with people at SCARS. A call went out for assistance, as I was badly hurt and in pain. A SCARS driver picked me up and I was carefully transported to my first veterinary clinic. They took x-rays and gave me pain meds. Turns out I am going to need a complex surgery. The decision was that I would be best off with a specialist, which meant another drive, but shorter this time and way easier with pain medication.

The nice vet who saw me used all sorts of big words … femoral head, ilial body fracture…. it was a bit much for me to take in. I think it means I am going to have surgery on my left hind leg and hip to stabilize and heal what’s broken so I can walk and run and play again. So that’s the plan.
