Thank you to CDI College! Each year they conduct a “Massage-a-thon” at its North Edmonton Campus, where massages can be purchased for a $10 donation, a barbecue is offered to visitors, a bake sale and silent auction is held, and a celebrity dunk tank raises funds for the chosen charity. This year SCARS was selected as the beneficiary, and the event raised a record $13,175.00.

On Monday, June 11  Terra MacLean accepted the cheque on behalf of SCARS from Renata Maione, Campus Director at the CDI College in North Edmonton.

The event was held on May 25/18 and was well-attended by supporters, SCARS volunteers and animals, college staff and students, and Edmonton Firefighters who consigned themselves to the dunk tank for the cause. In conjunction with the event the VCA North Vetemerg Clinic donated 2 pallets of pet food to SCARS at a separate presentation the day before at their clinic on 97th Street.

SCARS is very grateful for the support of all those who participated and contributed. Whether by way of purchasing a massage,or a silent auction item, or by enjoying a barbecue treat, home baking, or simply making a donation, the attendees had a great time, while helping SCARS to save homeless and injured companion animals rescued from Northern Alberta communities.
