Meet Carrie, a perfect example of why spaying and neutering is so important. Despite being at full capacity, we responded to an urgent call about a young stray dog giving birth on a deck. When we arrived, there was only one puppy with mom; the others are gone. A local vet coincidentally informed us of a box of newborn puppies brought in that same day. Wondering if these are hers, we visited the clinic—and Carrie happily accepted them!
We believe the puppies were loaded up (with one being missed) and dumped on someone else’s driveway who brought them into the vet clinic. It’s disheartening that someone felt the need to abandon Carrie, and more disheartening that there are so few options for unwanted pets.
