September 10, 2025 Update
What a difference a few days, a loving foster mom, healthy food, clean water, and a warm, safe house make! Blizzard here, and I know it is early days, but I am filled with hope. My family is very large, but I have this amazing foster mom, who seems to have all the answers to all my needs. I literally just gaze at her with adoring eyes sometimes.
On top of my poor condition and huge family to care for, it appears I am also deaf. Not that it will affect my quality of life, I just communicate in my own special way. The road ahead is long to grow my sweet babes to adoption age, but the SCARS team is on our side!

It has been a flurry of activity. I can barely catch my breath as the winds of change blow through.
SCARS runs spay neuter programs in several remote communities that have no veterinary care. The day before our team headed out, a community member called in, pleading for help for one more. One had been found and needed assistance in the worst way.
That was me, Blizzard, and SCARS came not a moment too soon.
Not much is known about my backstory, but my condition speaks for itself. Things have clearly not been easy. SCARS knows that when an animal is found in distress, often there is a human struggling as well, and always hope they too find support, just as I have. Caring, dedicated, comforting volunteers carefully loaded me into a SCARS truck. This team would drive 500 km that day, bringing me to the loving arms of my foster mom.
I arrived, breathed a sigh of relief, and a very few hours later, a snowstorm of tiny white babies made their appearance. One after another, after another. Ten new souls, my sweet, sweet babes. Ten lives that have a chance at life. Without SCARS, they likely would have perished – no home, no food, and an emaciated mother. There would have been little hope. All that changed because of people like you.
