Judging by my photos, you wouldn’t think anything is amiss until you look a little closer at my muzzle and then you may see the swelling in my face. I have a condition known as feline stomatitis.
Stomatitis is an extremely painful inflammation of the soft tissues in the mouth.
What that means for me is I need two oral surgeries where all of my teeth will be removed. While very expensive, tooth extraction is the gold standard for stomatitis treatment! Foster mom says even though I am in a lot of pain, I am an absolute sweetheart. She also says there’s a joke in there somewhere about having a sweet tooth.
