November 17 update… Archie is looking so much better and gaining weight. Sometimes he has a few quills that come out but he’s overall a very laid back and happy guy. Thanks for all the support and love for him. We truly appreciate it. He will be posted for adoption soon, keep an eye out for this guy! We know he will steal hearts.
October 21, 2022 Update…
Archie is still recovering from the bullet and constantly has quills coming out of his face… and we ADORE him!
October 15, 2022 Update…
Good news, Archie is doing well! He got a spa day to get cleaned up and is on a special diet to deal with his sodium levels from being so emaciated.
His breathing is stable. Quills are still migrating out but he is able to at least eat now. ❤️
October 14, 2022…
Archie’s day just got better thanks to amazing volunteers! ❤️ As you can see Archie is suffering from quills and has been for two weeks. It got so bad he could no longer eat which is why he is skin and bones. Archie was brought into Westlock vet for quills, which we see all the time but what was more concerning was the bullet hole in his chest. We had to go back to Westlock vet to transport Archie to Guardian Vet under emergency care. He now needs 24-hour care because he has pneumothorax, which is air in his chest. In short, it makes breathing much harder. We are so grateful to have amazing volunteers who help these animals! Not only do they drive, they crawl under decks to pull animals out. Whatever it takes, they are there to make it possible. ❤️💪
