October 2, 2026 – Update
Sasha’s stitches are out, her cone is off, and she’s now able to explore the trails at the Athabasca facility! Losing a leg doesn’t seem to have slowed this sweet girl down one bit. Sasha loves soaking up attention—and if the scratches stop too soon, she’ll let you know with a little grumble and a soft howl until the loving starts again! A heartfelt thank-you to everyone who has donated toward her veterinary care. Your support helps Sasha and so many other animals get the treatment they need. Sasha sends her love—and a little thank-you howl!

Meet Sasha, our new three-legged girl at the Athabasca facility! Sasha was kicked by a buffalo, and her injuries meant she had to have a back leg amputated. Through it all, she’s remained such a sweet girl. We’re glad she’s here, surrounded by care and love as she heals!
