July 31/26 – Many requests, but today Koda is the most urgent. This little pup was sadly hit, and she has a broken pelvis and a mangled front foot. Volunteer Jay rushed out to pick her up and brought her straight to Westlock Vet. Right now, x-rays are being done and sent to a specialist in Edmonton to determine whether her injuries can be repaired. Puppies are unbelievably resilient, and we’re holding onto hope we can help Koda get through this. She needs urgent care, and every share and every bit of support truly makes a difference.
Aug 5/26 – Koda’s update. With heavy hearts, we need to share the outcome for Koda. She had suffered a terrible injury, her pelvis was badly shattered , and after the x-rays and specialist review, no surgery could repair the damage. Sadly, we had to say goodbye to Koda. SCARS volunteer Jay went back to be with her as she passed, giving her comfort and support to the end. Thank you, Jay, for loving her through the hardest moments. We’re heartbroken, but grateful she was given care and a chance to be helped.
