July 28, 2026 – Missy Loo’s story is a powerful reminder of just how resilient and loving dogs can be, even after unimaginable hardship.
Missy came to SCARS from a spay/neuter clinic in a remote community after being caught in a trap. Although she had been freed, her paw had been amputated by the trap, and she went several days without medical care before arriving at the clinic.
At SCARS, her healing journey began. Despite everything she had endured, Missy wanted nothing more than cuddles, pets, and love. Due to the extent of her injury, the difficult decision was made to amputate her entire leg, and once again, Missy proved just how strong she was.
In just two months, Missy recovered from surgery, learned to navigate life on three legs, and captured the hearts of everyone she met. Today, she is thriving in her forever home alongside her feline sister.
From emergency medical care and surgery to the dedication of our staff, veterinarians, volunteers, and foster supporters, Missy Loo’s second chance was only possible because of people like you. Thank you for making stories like hers possible.
