Smeagol came into SCARS at about 6 weeks old with a badly broken leg. She had surgery, some pins and rods placed, and was healing up nicely until a few weeks ago when she started feeling off. We noticed there was a metal piece sticking out of her leg. She went to the vet and there was a pin sticking out, so they fixed it up and sent her home but she was just off. That weekend, she wouldn’t eat and was very lethargic, so we took her back to the vet and they discovered the bone was infected. She ended up having her leg amputated.
She is such a tough little thing and will start a new journey as a three legged cat who will love every minute of life. Smeagol will be ready for adoption soon!
