December 28… Every day is an emergency in this cold spell. No one is safe in this weather, especially dogs with newborn pups. This mother dog just had puppies and thankfully they were found by Furbabies before they froze, and thankfully we had a volunteer driver willing to make the 3-hour drive to pick them up! We are also thankful that a foster home was ready for them on arrival. Teamwork goes a long way to saving lives. There are 10 babies. One of them wasn’t doing well on arrival and sadly passed away.
January 6, 2022 update from Betty White! Named for a legend, safe in a foster home, things are really going my way. Thank you to Global News Edmonton for featuring us in their Alberta animal rescue groups benefitting from Betty’s White legacy story. Thanks as well to our supporters for all the great name suggestions, SCARS supporters are the best. My foster mom told me about the great response and all the names to choose from. Our great volunteers picked some of the top names for the Betty White litter! #bettywhitechallenge Turns out there was a misprint when we first posted, I have 3 girls and 6 boys…introducing Rose, Nivens, Marion, Ludden, Cleveland, Redford, Password, Reynolds, and Hotdog. Betty White believed deeply in animal welfare and was passionate about the humane care and treatment of all animals. In her honor, on what would have been Betty’s 100th birthday, January 17 – please consider a donation to a local animal rescue scarscare.ca/donate! These little ones will be available for adoption in about 7 weeks!
